At Tooth Works Dentistry, we’ve always believed that our circle of care extends beyond our doors, and this includes the wagging tails and gentle purrs of our four-legged companions. In line with this spirit, we’re thrilled to announce a partnership especially dear to our hearts: collaborating with the Edmonton Humane Society.

Our very own Dr. Sam Withanachchi, an expert in crafting beautiful smiles, is also a devoted cat dad to his sphinxes, Polly and Hennessy. His deep love for animals reaches far past his feline duo. Dr. Sam enjoys watching the zany antics of squirrels and wild birds in his backyard, often amusingly observed by Polly and Hennessy (from a safe distance, of course). This love for animals is something we all share at Tooth Works, often bonding with our patients over stories of our quirky pets.

However, amidst these joyful stories, we’re also aware of a more somber reality: the significant increase in animals being surrendered to shelters post-pandemic. As people’s lifestyles shifted, many pets, once considered cherished family members, have faced abandonment or neglect. This shift has placed an overwhelming strain on animal rescues and shelters. Recognizing the urgency of this issue, we’re channeling our 2024 charitable efforts into supporting the Edmonton Humane Society.

We invite our Tooth Works family to join us on this meaningful initiative. Stay tuned for updates on how we’re making a difference for these deserving creatures. Let’s ensure a brighter future for our furry friends, one wag, purr, and smile at a time. Because at Tooth Works, every smile matters, whether it’s on two legs or four.
